Since Coming To Leeds University - Presentation Transcript

    1. Since Coming to Leeds University…… Elizabeth Mills Kathryn Brown Zhiyao Huang
    2. Elizabeth Mills
      • I come from a small town so coming to university has been a bit of a shock
      • I have enjoyed making lots of new friends and I love the course that I have chosen, definitely the right thing for me!
      • I love Leeds night life, it’s pumping! They have one of the best drum and bass nights in Yorkshire!! Woooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      • Mega city, mega uni, I love it.
    3. Kathryn Brown:
      • My experiences since I’ve been to university have been mostly positive.
      • Moving in has been a strange experience and adjusting to living away from home is difficult at first but the social life makes it easier!
      • Making new friends is one of the best parts of university as you have experiences you would otherwise not have had the opportunity to have.
      • I definitely think coming to Leeds university has been fun so far and I’m really enjoying the course and the course content. The different style of teaching is much more geared towards self learning than 6 th form so I think that this has made me a much more motivated student.
    4. Zhiyao Huang’s Experience in Leeds
      • I have been transferred from Keele University, the studying experience I get in Leeds is very different to Keele. The course is more self-independent and difficult, so more private study has been required to be part of my learning progress.
      • Making friends has always been one of the best things to do in University; I have had lots of help from friends and it makes an important part in my social life too.
    5. The Differences in Images JPG, GIF, and WMF
      • “ JPG (also JPEG, Joint Photographic Experts Group) files are bitmap images that have the ability to be highly compressed while allowing you to control loss of quality to an acceptable degree, which makes their use suitable for the web. ”
      • “ GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) files are bitmap images that have a limited color palette, with a maximum of 256 colors. GIF files allow you to limit the color palette to only those colors used in the image, thereby making the image smaller by removing extraneous information from the file.”
      • “ Windows Metafile (WMF) is a graphics file format on Microsoft Windows systems, originally designed in the early 1990s. Windows Metafiles are intended to be portable between applications and may contain both vector and bitmap components. In contrast to raster formats such as JPEG and GIF which are used to store bitmap graphics such as photographs, scans and graphics, Windows Metafiles generally are used to store line-art, illustrations and content created in drawing or presentation applications. Most Windows clipart is in the WMF format.”
