Cd Collage

 1. 2.

One of the CD covers I used in my collage was one of The Libertine’s albums.

This CD cover is well known by anyone who is interested in that genre of music.

The Libertines are a British indie/rock band.

I think their cover to this CD is great for how they are trying to appeal to the fans because they know who is in the band and know Pete Doherty’s voice is quite rough and growly, as presented in the photograph on the CD case.

 2. 3.

Cage The Elephant are known for their, quite lively music and I think this CD cover represents that well.

The colours make the band appeal to a wider range. Its more noticeable among the rest of the CD’s in the shop.

The font used on the cover is symbolic, and is used for every piece on merchandise and every time the band is branded.

I like the fact that, although they wanted their CD cover to stand out and be colourful, they still left a lot of white on it, which in my view, makes them look like they’re not desperate for your attention.

 3. 4.

The CD cover for the band Skint And Demoralised is probably one of my favourites.

I like how they’ve made the cover quite old fashioned.

The two boys on the cover of the album have similar hair and fashion to the main singer in the band so I think they’re trying to make you realise this.

The CD cover is eye-catching. Its not too over the top, but it has the bright yellow strip which you’ll see over the rest of the CD’s in a shop and its different to your regular indie bands.

 4. 5.

I think the CD cover for Glasvegas is really good.

A lot of this bands songs are quite sad and depressing and I think they present that in the cover along with a sign of maturity.

I like the fact that they didn’t leave the cover too plain and too dark. The cover is quite imaginative and creative, like the lyrics in the songs they sing.

Its good for a band to have a link between the songs, band, voice and CD cover because it gives a sense of quality and effort.
