  • Bijblijven: u wilt op een handiger en snellere manier informatie beheren, om zo beter bij te blijven met nieuwe ontwikkelingen. Dat kan bijvoorbeeld via een aggregator: (iGoogle, Netvibes), en rss feeds (Bloglines, Google reader).
    Informatie delen: U wilt op een snellere manier informatie delen met studenten en collega’s. Dat kan bijvoorbeeld door het delen van bookmarks en referenties (Del.icio.us, CiteUlike), of het bijhouden van een weblog (Wordpress, Blogger of direct in Blackboard).
    Samenwerken: u wilt met een groep studenten een stuk theorie verder uitwerken, met collega’s een projectvoorstel schrijven, of samenwerken aan een publicatie. Zo creërt u nieuwe kennis. Dit kan bijvoorbeeld met een wiki (zit in Blackboard), collaborative mind mapping (Mindmeister, Mind24) of “document sharing” (Google docs, OfficeLive, Google Knol, Zoho).
    Uw kennis(en) netwerk beheren: u wilt contact houden met afstudeerders, alumni, en (internationale) collega’s. Dit kan via social networking (Elgg, Facebook, Hyves) en microblogging (Twitter).
    Inhoud toevoegen: u zoekt door anderen geproduceerd (multimedia) materiaal voor in uw vak. Dit kan via repositories (MIT opencourseware, Merlot).
