2. As part of our music video project we needed to obtain various feedback so we could understand how effective our video was as a whole and how we could of seeked improvement on it. First of all we screened our video and produced it to our media class in which they answered these questions whilst their feedback was being videoed. We asked five individual people to state upon how effective our music video is and the changes that could of been made, I got this feedback by handing out questionnaires to each of the individuals and allowing them to view our video upon YouTube.
3. Yes with the different locations. Having the close – up shots of the artist works really well and we know as an audience who the video is about. Having the various different outfits which typical music videos would. Making the video a narrative one. It’s a fun music video showing clearly what it’s about and fitting in clearly with the lyrics used. 1. Do you think our product is typical of music video? If so in what ways is it similar?
4. Having the fake money thrown up in the air shows a more laid back fun approach, as you would normally seen real notes. Half way through the video having the main artist split into three people giving the effect of looking like she's in mid air which makes the video seem different. Having the cassette player with the cassette featuring the artist’s name on at the beginning shows something different and makes us know exactly who they are. Throughout the video, sections were added in to show the artist having fun which created a much more fun music video, it gave it a more unique feel. 2. Does anything make it different?
5. Yes, it relates to the lyrics within the song matching the narrative exactly to it so there’s no confusion as to what’s going on. Having the fast shots fitted into the music works really well as the music is also played at a fast pace. Yes because the use of location and different costumes made it stand out and love exciting and fun. 3. Does it works
6. The drapes seen at the start of the video and various other parts throughout as it is not usually seen but works really well as the colours used makes the artist herself stand out. Having the split screen usage in the video looks great and makes you constantly focused upon what is going on within the music video, making it interesting to watch. The various props used such as the fake money, the wave produced within the car etc makes it seem a much more fun video rather than serious, which can make it seem boring. The special effects used, particularly the artist split into three sections looks interesting and quirky. 4. What is interesting about this video?
7. Yes as the lip sync could be done more precise within some scenes, it sometimes seems not quite fitted to the music. The green screen featured in the news scene could still be correct and made better. Cutting down on locations as sometimes this causes confusion within the narrative as it’s sometimes hard to know what’s happening. 5. Could this product be stronger?
8. Everything pace wise fits within the song and nothing seems to look out of place. The images changed quick to match the pace of the music which worked really well. 6. Do you think the pace of the video is correct for this type of music video?
9. Indie – pop as the video was made individual and all about the particular artist. Pop with the colours and costumes used. Indie – pop as it was made much more unique and quirky ideas were put into it. 7. Can you tell the genre?
10. I agreed upon that the green screen in particular and the lip sync needed improvement and could of been much more precise. The key points that possibly shocked me was that most of the individuals didn't recognise that our video was indie - pop and instead referred to it as just pop. If i was to do anything differently it would probably be to cut down on locations and maybe make it more simpler still involving a good narrative. My response to the feedback.
