  • 2. You not only listen with your ears You also listen with your eyes! What is listening? Listening does not mean simply maintaining a polite silence. Nor does listening mean waiting alertly for the flaws in the other fellow’s arguments so later you can mow him down. Listening means trying to see the problem the way the speaker sees it.
