Theory Continued

The Male Gaze expresses an asymmetric

power relationship, between the viewer and viewed, e.g. man imposes his unwanted gaze upon women.

But there are flaws in this Theory.

Flaws in the Theory

Laura Mulvey only looks at one side of the side of the argument as there are allot of Magazines with male models that get Gazed at by women
Which has the same effect as the ‘Male Gaze’ as it reduces the man to a object of desire.

Feminists Believe that looking at

women in this way is demoralising and wrong.
