The Lialis WebDAV Monitor application checks, on a scheduled basis, if your Lialis WebDAV infrastructure is operational. You can configure it to download a particular file from your Lotus Notes, Lotus Quickr or IBM Connections system via the Lialis WebDAV server. You must make sure that this application can probe the complete network used by your WebDAV users. The Lialis WebDAV Monitor application is added to this document and is free to use.

    • WebDAV Monitor Marten Vosmer posted this on July, 2013 The File Jockey Monitor application checks, on a scheduled basis, if your File Jockey infrastructure is operational. You can configure it to download a particular file from your IBM Lotus Notes, IBM Lotus Quickr or IBM Connections system via the File Jockey server. You must make sure that this application can probe the complete network used by your WebDAV users. The File Jockey Monitor application is added to this document and is free to use. Installation steps: Download the zip file WebDAVMonitor100.zip to your computer and extract it. https://webdav.zendesk.com/attachments/token/pc4iqkqx92agmos/?name=WebDAVMonito r100.zip Open the extracted WebDAVMonitor100.nsf file with your Notes client and create a Notes database copy to a Domino server. This Domino server must run the HTTP task. Domino server version 8.5 will work fine. Make sure this Domino server can send a http request, via the internet, to your WebDAV server (which replays it internally to your Lotus Notes, Lotus Quickr or IBM Connections system). Make sure this Domino server can deliver the notification emails to you. Double check the WebDAVMonitor100.nsf ACL, only servers and Administrators need access to this database. Sign the WebDAVMonitor100.nsf database with the server or Notes admin ID. When you open the WebDAVMonitor100.nsf application first go to the Settings. In the Settings view you can specify one or multiple WebDAV systems that should be monitored. You must create a Settings document for each single URL that you want to be checked. We have added two example settings documents you may delete. Marten Vosmer: +31 622 473 076 | marten.vosmer@lialis.com | http://www.file-jockey.com
    • In the “URL” tab, enter the location of the file you want to download. This URL will be used to retrieve a particular file from a Notes db, Quickr place or Connections system you have connected to File Jockey. If the file cannot be retrieved there is a problem with the internet access, the WebDAV server or the Notes, Quickr or Connections server. It’s advisable to create an empty file "WebDAVMonitorDoNoDelete.doc" and put is somewhere in Notes db, Quickr place or Connections where the file will not be deleted. Now you need to figure out the URL to retrieve this file. You may try to access the WebDAV server via the internet browser and browse to the particular file and then copy the URL including the file name. The URL must be complete starting with https and ending with the file to be downloaded. At the login tab add the credentials needed to access the Notes db, Quickr place or Connections place holding the file At the notify tab add the Notes users names or internet email addresses of the people to be notified if the WebDAVMonitorDoNoDelete.doc cannot be downloaded At the options tab you may enable or disable this probe and if its sends out emails yes or no The view Agent Log will display the probing activities done by the agent for today. The days after today this view will only display the log messages if a probe went false. You will see a red or green button in the bottom left frame. This button shows the actual status of the Monitoring agent. Marten Vosmer: +31 622 473 076 | marten.vosmer@lialis.com | http://www.file-jockey.com
    • When you click the (red) button to enable the Monitoring agent, you will see a pop-up showing information of the agent status. The agent is triggered on the correct server automatically and will run every 5 minutes by default. Normally, when the agent can access a file without problems, a log entry is created with the name of the settings document, with a status code 200, e.g.  # TEST – File download ok: Status code: 200 When a download fails, this is logged as well. The remOldDocs agent performs the Housekeeping task by removing all log documents with status code 200 once a day. File Jockey is the missing link between mobile device and IBM. We have written several other manuals in using apps combined with File Jockey and IBM Connections and Quickr.
