  • 1. Network drive directly to the files in IBM Connections Marten Vosmer posted this on April, 2013 In this blog I will show you how to deliver the files stored in IBM Connections or IBM Lotus Quickr to the user’s computers via a network drive (Mac supported as well). Like displayed in the image below where the IBM Connections folders and files are displayed as a network drive. The advantage of a network drive is 100% freedom to work with the files stored in IBM Connections or Lotus Quickr via de Windows file explorer. Users can open files, modify files, copy and delete files, rename files and so on. To show you how this solution works, we’ve installed File Jockey onto one of our own cloud servers… so you can use it with the IBM Greenhouse environment and your PC. This service for free and you don’t have to sign up to anything or create an account. (You just need a free IBM Greenhouse account if you don't have one.) Download and install the WebDAV client of WebDrive Marten Vosmer: +31 622 473 076 | marten.vosmer@lialis.com | http://www.file-jockey.com
  • 2. Press New Choose WebDAV Enter the URL https://greenc.lialis.com for the IBM Greenhouse Connections files or https://greenq.lialis.com for the IBM Greenhouse Lotus Quickr files. In this walk through I am using Connections, the same applies for Quickr (and Notes databases but then you must install File Jockey on your own server) Forget the Test Connection option, its not working properly Add the advanced Settings button you can configure more settings. These settings are important for proper functioning, here are the settings we advice to use. Marten Vosmer: +31 622 473 076 | marten.vosmer@lialis.com | http://www.file-jockey.com

  • 5. When all is setup and configured it’s time to connect like this Marten Vosmer: +31 622 473 076 | marten.vosmer@lialis.com | http://www.file-jockey.com
  • 6. A browser windows will pop up displaying drive W with the Connections files. Now I can do: 1. browse and open files 2. edit files 3. delete files 4. rename files 5. create folders 6. access community files 7. and more I hope you enjoyed this example. File Jockey is the missing link between mobile device and IBM. We have written several other manuals in using apps combined with File Jockey and IBM Connections and Quickr. More details about the File Jockey software can be found on http://www.file-jockey.com Marten Vosmer: +31 622 473 076 | marten.vosmer@lialis.com | http://www.file-jockey.com
