Makkah al-Mukkaramah and Medina are sacred places and heavenly bliss <br />The word Makkah came from Bakkahwhich means destroy, eliminate and annihilate<br />Scholars agree that these words are referring to the destroying of the hill or the elimination of show-off attitude in human heart<br />PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA<br />ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA<br />

If we are not able to control ourselves from bragging, it might become a nature to us.<br />Although Makkah and Medina are surrounded by dry hills, Muslims around the world still making the efforts to get there.<br />Prophet said: <br />والله إنك لغير أرض الله، وأحب أرض الله علي ولو لا أني خرجي منك ما خرجت<br />PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA<br />ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA<br />

It is stated that whoever prays at these places (Makkah and Medina), the prayer is equivalent to 100 thousand of prayers, <br />Similarly, whoever fasts at these places, his one day fasting is equal to 100 thousand days of fasting, <br />In the same way, whoever make donates one dirham, his donation is equal to 100 thousand of dirham<br />PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA<br />ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA<br />
