Hello and welcome to this Product Training.
In this presentation we are going to take an overview of the Daily Nutrition range,
looking at the reasons why we need to top up the nutrients we get from our diet.
There are many reasons why a balanced diet may not provide us with all the nutrients
we need to obtain optimum health.
Our food may not be as nutritious as it once was, due to nutrient depletion in the soil.
For many people, the ability to absorb and make use of these nutrients may be impaired
due to digestive problems..
Regardless of the quality of the food you consume, if your digestive system can’t
process the nutrients properly, you won’t receive the full benefit of the available
RDA’s or recommended daily amounts were established by the government, with a view
to preventing deficiency diseases. However, for optimum health, some may benefit from
higher levels than the RDA. Studies have also highlighted that some people may not
even get the minimum RDA .
Finally, there are variations in the amount of nutrients each person needs. This is due to
genetics, lifestyle, and the state of health of the individual.
Here are some examples of how the nutritional status of our foods has changed in
Europe over the past 100 years or so.
Watercress now has about 12% of the Iron it used to have in the early 60’s.
In 1992 it was announced at an earth summit that our soil mineral content in Europe
has dropped by a staggering 72%, which is a concern, as it is from the soil that crops
obtain their vitamins and minerals.
At the same time, our need for nutrients has increased because we often have more
stress, pollution, exposure to chemicals and other toxins to deal with than ever before,
and this can create quite a burden for the body.
Not only is our food quite often relatively poor in terms of its nutritional value, but
cooking it destroys even more vitamins and minerals.
Processed foods and ‘fast foods’ are often low in nutrients and sometimes use up more
nutrients than they give.
You may remember watching birds following a plough through a field a few years ago,
picking up worms and insects from the soil. Or maybe you remember having to wash
hundreds of dead flies off the front of your car after a long journey. Have you noticed
how rare both of these are these days?
This is largely due to the number of chemical sprays being used on our field crops.
These spray don’t just kill ‘pests’ but most of the bacteria and microbes in the soil, which
effects the ecosystem that relies on that soil.
Bacteria and microbes are vital to the fertility of the soil, and the ability of plants to
uptake vitamins and minerals.
Convenience foods and processed foods can play a huge role in our modern world diets,
and any form of processing has the effect of de-naturing a food to some extent.
In addition, many of our cooking methods are unkind to nutrients, damaging or
destroying them. So although the food on our plates may look good, it may only offer
low levels of good nutrition.
The old saying of ‘you are what you eat’ has the ring of truth, but there are many people
who have little understanding of what good food is.
We’ve lost our connection with food and the understanding that what you put in, you
will get out.
Junk foods might be convenient but its full of refined sugars and carbohydrates, and
offers very little in terms of nutrients.
Often when people switch from a junk food diet to a healthy one, they see a number of
quick improvements – they start to lose weight, they feel better, have more energy, have
reduced craving and start to notice health issues improve.
The key to staying fit and healthy is largely in the food choices we make. This is because,
when the body has access to good nutrition it can carry out all of the daily balancing,
maintenance and repair work needed. Without good nutrition the body has to prioritise
the few resources it has, and sometimes, things fall by the way.
Eating nutrient-dense food means we need to eat less for our body to feel satisfied. It’s
important for people to have a good understanding of their food, and to maintain
healthy balanced eating habits to maintain optimum health. Supplementing with good
quality food supplements can help make up the shortfall.
We are all individuals and there’s huge potential for variation between the amounts of
nutrients each of us needs at any particular time. For example, men need more zinc than
women, and women need more iron than men.
If we are unwell, drink alcohol, smoke or have other unhealthy habits this will deplete
Medication also has an effect on various nutrient levels, including everyday drugs such
as the contraceptive pill.
Our general state of overall health is an important factor, as is our age and gender.
Many things can determine the levels we need, and a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t
Not all supplements are equal, so...
WHAT MAKES NSPUK DIFFERENT?

approach to business. We take great care to ensure that our ingredients are
organically sourced wherever possible,
minimising the impact of chemical sprays on the environment. Our quality team
audit each and every one of our suppliers, wherever they are in the world. We do
all that we can to ensure that our suppliers meet the same high ethical standards
as our own.
Each of our products are formulated to give precisely the right ingredients in
perfectly balanced amounts to ensure maximum absorption into the body.
Our team of expert nutritionists, herbalists, and biologists try the products
themselves during the development process, and formulas are not sent for
manufacture until they’re found to be the best that we can possibly make.
When it comes to supplementation
QUALITY IS EVERYTHING!
Nature’s Sunshine knows that there are no shortcuts to quality. When it comes to your health,
you don’t take chances, and neither do we.
Nature’s Sunshine stringently pre-screens every potential supplier, insisting on a company
profile and detailed descriptions of all of their processes and activities.
Nature’s Sunshine’s raw materials undergo intensive testing procedures before we accept them,
and we can be sure that our ingredients remain clean and pure throughout the manufacturing
process due to extensive testing from start to finish.
In all, we have more than 600 tests at our disposal to determine the quality, purity and potency
of our materials and products. Conducted using sophisticated, state-of-the-art equipment, some
tests are used to identify materials while others are used to quantify active components.
A product may be checked at any time during production, and if it doesn’t meet our high
standards at any point, it will be withdrawn. Even when our product is finished and packaged,
we bring it back for a final check before it’s released for sale. If it doesn’t meet with approval,
the entire batch is taken out of production.
We’re so confident that you’ll love our products that we offer a full 90 day money back
guarantee if you’re unhappy with them for any reason.
Our Daily Nutrition products are designed to help you get the right amounts of Protein,
Fibre, Antioxidants, Vitamins and Minerals, and Essential Fatty Acids to keep your body
in great condition every day.
Needless to say, very few people can claim to eat a ‘well balanced diet’.
Even those who do may assume that their food is nutritionally rich, without considering
the lack of nutrients resulting from intensive farming practices, manufacturing methods
and storage processes.
Our modern lifestyle can also be very demanding which is why so many people choose
Nature’s Sunshine products to supplement their diet in order to maintain optimum
The daily nutrition products are: Zambroza which provides antioxidants, TNT which
provides fibre, SynerProtein which is an excellent source of additional protein, Super
Supplemental, a multivitamin and mineral, Super Omega 3, which provides essential
fatty acids, Proactzyme which ensures good food digestion and Probiotic Eleven, a
superb probiotic supplement.
You might have heard about free radicals - they’re very reactive atoms or molecules
which speed up the degenerative processes in the body and lead to ageing. A simple
example is the effect of rusting on iron, or fruit starting to decay. Both of those are due
to the same oxidation processes caused by free radicals.
We refer to that as ‘free radical damage’ or ‘oxidative stress’. In order to neutralise them
you need high levels of antioxidants in the body. Factors like stress, poor food choices,
illness, exercise and everyday living all create free radicals, which is why an antioxidant
supplement like Zambroza is important.
Nature’s Sunshine harvested the most healthful fruits and natural extracts from around
the world and combined them into this unique delicious, nutritious juice, specially
formulated to neutralise excess free radicals, and give your body what it needs to enjoy
maximum health and long lasting vitality.
Zambroza is one of the most potent antioxidant drinks on the market. Potency of
antioxidants is measured by their ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). In
Independent laboratory tests, Zambroza’s scored more than twice that of the nearest
competitor, demonstrating its superior protective properties.
Government guidelines encourage us to have at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables daily, yet
despite this recommendation many people fail to achieve this intake
There are two types of fibre (Soluble and Insoluble) which perform important functions within
the body, bringing health benefits to the digestive and circulatory systems.
Experts recommend consuming a minimum of at least 20-35 grams of dietary fibre each day, but
many people get less than half that amount in their diet.
Fibre is important to keep our bowels moving and our colon healthy. Fibre’s most common
benefit is the regularity that it promotes, which means toxins are less likely to be reabsorbed
into the blood stream. High fibre diets have also been shown to reduce the risk of certain health
TNT helps to ensure you are getting the fibre, vitamins and minerals, you need daily. Each

Protein is essential for many vital functions in the body. Protein can’t be stored in the body, so
it’s important to consume protein every day. Not getting enough protein can contribute to
protein deficiency, which can have effect our general health and wellbeing. However, some
people may not get enough daily protein, either through poor diet or digestion or absorption

Vitamins and mineralsare essential nutrients that your body needs in order to function properly. The
body itself can’t make vitamins, so it’s really important to get enough vitamins and minerals in your diet
An average diet and lifestyle will give us an average state of health, but improving our nutritional status
can lead to optimum health, now and in the future.

You might have seen some things in the news over the past few years about the health
benefits of eating oily fish. That’s because quite a lot of research has been done into the
role of essential fatty acids in maintaining the health of the brain and cardiovascular
system in particular.
The active part of any fish oil supplement is what is called EPA and DHA and Super
Omega-3 EPA has extremely high levels of this compared to other supplements on the
Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) are just that – essential to life! The body needs Omega-3
EFA’s to manufacture and repair cell membranes. Brain tissue is largely made up of fatty
acids, which are essential to healthy brain development and maintenance. Each capsule
of Nature’s Sunshine’s Super Omega-3 EPA contains both EPA 380mg and DHA 190mg,
which improves the effectiveness of the product.
Proactazyme is both a daily nutrition product and the key system product for the
digestive system. Ensuring the digestive tract is working well is key to good health, and
this is where nutrients are broken down and absorbed into the body. Proactzyme is a
blend of digestive enzymes extracted from plants, which help the body to fully break
down fats, carbohydrates and proteins. As we get older, our ability to create these
enzymes ourselves starts to decline, and nutritional status suffers as a result Proactzyme
can help to ensure we maintain healthy digestion.
Maintaining healthy gut flora helps us to digest and absorb proteins, and produce B
vitamins. The delicate balance of healthy gut flora can be disrupted by a number of
circumstances, including the use of antibiotics, excess alcohol, stress, disease and
exposure to environmental toxins.
Probiotic Eleven is a high potency, multi strain probiotic supplement that provides
almost 12 billion bacteria per serving. The eleven strains of bacteria in Probiotic Eleven
ensure you replenish your gut with a variety of beneficial flora. Each capsule contains a
built-in prebiotic to nourish and spread the bacteria throughout the gut.
