    • Why use anti-reflective coatings on solar cover glass?
      • About 4% of the light hitting the glass of a solar modules is reflected and thus lost for electricity production.
      • Reflections can be reduced and thus light transmission can be increased by using antireflective (AR) coatings.
      • The higher electricity output results in a reduction of the cost per Wp!
      • ‘ Traditional’ AR coatings are either expensive or have to compromise on the balance optical vs mechanical properties.
      • DSM has developed a unique single layer AR coating which minimizes reflection without compromising on the durability.
      • DSM’s AR coating technology is marketed under the brand-name KhepriCoat™ and is available via a licensing model

    • Why is KhepriCoat™ different from traditional AR coatings?
      • In contrast to ‘traditional’ AR coatings, the DSM AR coating has a closed silica-based structure with a high internal nano-porosity
      • Voids are formed in the coating layer by using core-shell particles with a silica shell
      • The voids between the particles are completely filled with a solid silica-based binder giving a very strong bond
      • The closed and smooth surface for excellent durability, mechanical properties and cleanability

    • KhepriCoat is a very versatile AR coating technology
      • The technology is suitable for use on all types of PV and solar thermal modules
      • The coating can be applied 1- and 2-sided
      • DSM’s AR coating can be applied by various coating technologies, like dip, roll, spray or slot-die coating
