Employment Opportunities <ul><li>No sign of the information revolution slowing down </li></ul><ul><li>‘ Pull’ of business and customer demand = innovation in the IT world </li></ul><ul><li>In the UK, big demand for people with the right skills - ‘Skills shortage’ </li></ul><ul><li>Businesses need an IT-capable workforce at all levels </li></ul><ul><li>Workforce adapting easily to new systems </li></ul><ul><li>School leavers able to handle office software </li></ul>Lesson 5 Learning outcomes: Understand the impact on employment ; understand the demand for skills – skills shortage; global effects

  5. 5. Task <ul><li>Go to www.jobserve.com or www.fish4jobs.co.uk </li></ul><ul><li>Make a small list of the jobs that are most in demand. Pay particular attention to the skills set required, the money offered and the location of the jobs. </li></ul><ul><li>Now search one of these sites using ‘Cisco routers’ as the search criteria.
