Available in your Microsoft Office applications is the Lotus Connectiosn toolbar. From here users can search the Lotus Connections services. Click to post a document to an Activity or Blog, Save selected items as Activity ToDo Entries.
You can create a To Do list in a Microsoft® Office document and post it to an activity. Creating a To Do list in Microsoft Word is a great shortcut for quickly creating action items. When you create a To Do list and post it to an activity, each item is posted as a separate To Do. You can then go into the activity and assign the To Do items to activity users. Open a document in any of the Microsoft Office applications. Select the text that you want to turn into a To Do list. The text must be separated by carriage returns. Each new line is turned into a separate To Do. Click Lotus Connections above the editing area (Microsoft Office 2003) or on the Add-In ribbon (Microsoft Office 2007) and choose Save Selected as Activity To Do. The To Do items are listed. Add tags. Tags are keywords you assign to describe your posting. Tags must be entered as a single word, separated by commas or spaces. Payroll, human-resources, and event_planing are examples of valid tag formats. Choose one of the following: Select an existing activity. Create a new activity. Assign a name and optionally fill out the Description and Activity Tags fields for the activity. Click OK to save the file to the selected activity. When you open the activity, your To Do items will be available for you to assign.
From any Microsoft® Office document you can search on a person's name to find their Profile or search for content in a Connections service. Click Search and select a service. Enter search text in the Search field. Click Enter to execute the search. Search results are displayed in their own window. Right-click a name in the list of search results to display the business card for the person.
Add a file to an activity to share it with other activity users. Adding a file to an activity from Windows Explorer is a great shortcut for sharing documents that you have created and stored locally. Open Windows Explorer. Right-click the file you want to add to an activity and choose Lotus Connections > Add to Activity. The name for the activity posting is filled in by default with the file name. You can edit this name if you wish. Add a description for the posting. Add tags. Tags are keywords you assign to describe your posting. Tags must be entered as a single word, separated by commas or spaces. Payroll, human-resources, and event_planing are examples of valid tag formats. Do one of the following: Select an existing activity. Create a new activity. Assign a name and optionally fill out the Descriptions and Activity Tags field for the activity. Click OK to save the file to the selected activity. When you open the activity, your file will be available as a posting.

I want to find out who is working on new technology
A client sends us an RFI to upgrade their platform with the latest technology, e.g. Adobe AIR. In this case we have not done any projects with this technology, so there won’t be reference projects or project documentation to find.
What is the fastest way to find someone inside Sogeti who is knowledgeable in this field?
QUERY: adobe, air
I would like to work on a BID together with my fellow Bid Managers
In the Connections Search I look for documents, blog sand communities and also specifically persons tagged with Adobe or Air.
Connections is the only system that allows tagging people . When a person is tagged Adobe AIR you have found your expert. If more people are tagged similarly, you can find your expert based on the number of times the person is tagged with these keywords.
The search result will display a number of blogresults. You can easily find the best blog about Adobe Air based on views, comments and ratings .
Unique to Connections is that comments themselves can be rated as well. Even if your search result leads you to a blog that offers poor quality, you may still be able to find your expert by looking whose comments are best rated.
