God Bless America faces up to the Heavens & God !! It is a sincere prayer.
Don’t imagine problems where there are none. It is a touching , emotional ending...

I absolutely must see this heartfelt monument.

Wow! I like it! A great big thank you to the artist, President of Russia and the Russian people! A friend of mine in the U,K, turned me on to something in my own country that I had no idea existed. It’s beautiful! And extremly thoughtful. We Americans are still bickering about what a memorial should look like. Don’t bother America. Day late, dollar short. Once again, a neighbor has done it for us. Thank you again. God Bless Everyone.

gorgeous and I also wonder about the upside down God Bless America and why that was like that. Certainly flying an upside down flag is a show of disrespect. That is not the sense I get from this slide show however.

Russia, Thank You very much for your beautiful statement. I wish others would thank you but they don’t even know it exists. I promise to tell everyone about this grand gesture. I wish my country would make a monument like this one. bye bye ray - RI

Dont’ call someone names if you don’t know exactly why something was done. It makes you look ridiculous. I don’t recall ever seeing this in the news. Why? This was a very beautiful, moving and gracious thing to do. I for one am extremely impressed and grateful for such kindness forwarded to our fallen. It was a very thoughtful and kind thing to do and upside down or not, I thank the Russian people and their esteemed artist for such a beautiful memorial.

I give my thanks to the person who put this together. However, if you are going to do something to honor the people, as well as this great nation, then by GOD don’t disrespect them or our country by putting, in the last frame, God Bless America upside down. You disrespectful schmuck!!

  1. Gift From the People of Russia to USA "MONUMENT TO THE STRUGGLE AGAINST WORLD TERRORISM" Zurab Tesereteii, artist Vladimir Putin, President Russia
  2. Russian Tribute to USA Artist Zurab Tesereteii I had never heard of this before receiving an e-mail.   Why the  press didn’t report it? This is the "TEAR DROP" made and installed by the Russians to honor those who died in 9 11 and a statement against terrorism. It is very impressive. The tear drop is lined up with the Statue of Liberty
  3. September 11th , 2006 2:30 pm The Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor, New Jersey The Unveiling of a New World Monument Remembering the Victims of September 11th and the 1993 World Trade Center Bombings A Gift from the People of Russia Vladimir Putin, President (Northeast Corner of Bayonne Peninsula at the former Military Ocean Terminal) Time cures everything, but there are things we cannot and must not forget. Standing more than 100 feet tall, “To the Struggle Against World Terrorism” honors victims of 9/11 and the 1993 World Trade Center bombings and serves as a symbol of solidarity in the fight against world terrorism. Created by Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, the memorial was a gift from the Russian people. Dedicated on September 11, 2006, it stands in direct view of the Statue of Liberty and the former World Trade Center.

  5. Standing at 100 feet tall and weighing 175 tons, the monument was shipped from Russia to the United States in six sections — weighing between 28 and 63 tons each — and assembled by a group of Russian artisans. Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli spent several months in the U.S. overseeing construction of the memorial.

  13. Names of the persons killed on 9 11 are inscribed on the base.   The base like the Vietnam Memorial wall.   It is down in the shipping yards across from "The Lady".
  14. ....it is an impressive memorial and statement against terrorism.
  15. The walkway is made of stones.
  16. “ To the Struggle Against World Terrorism,” was conceived as the events of 9/11 unfolded and Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli walked the streets of Moscow. Struck by the outpouring of grief he observed, a memorial with an image of a tear formed in his mind. Shortly after the attacks, Tsereteli visited ground zero and looked to New Jersey’s waterfront for an appropriate site for a monument honoring victims of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks. Zurab Tsereteli is one of Russia’s most prominent and prolific artists. A sculptor, designer and architect, he captures significant historical events in large-scale sculptures and monuments on view in museums and public spaces throughout Russia, Europe, Israel, Uruguay and the United States. Other noted works by the artist include the “Victory” monument at the Moscow War Memorial, “Peter the Great” in downtown Moscow and “Good Defeats Evil” a sculpture created from scrapped American and Soviet missiles on the grounds of the United Nations in New York.
  17. The nickel-plated teardrop contained within the monument weighs four tons and measures approximately 40 feet high.
  18. THE MEMORIAL AT HARBOR VIEW PARK Bayonne, New Jersey A gift from Tsereteli and the Russian people, the memorial is made of steel sheathed in bronze. Standing 100 feet high, its center contains a jagged tear. In it, hangs a 40-foot stainless steel teardrop, representing sadness and grief over the loss of life, but also hope for a future free from terror. Etched in ngranite on an 11-sided base are the names of the nearly 3,000 killed in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings and terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

  20. You do not have to forward, you are not going to have bad luck if you delete but I do ask that YOU Pray for our Men and Women in Uniform…
  21. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.      2 Chronicles 7:14
