-Flames reached 50m - Elaine Hurby’s Evacuation
Evacuated at 10 am with her pets
Husband was in Fort McMurray working
Grabbed very few possessions
Drove 20km and sat on a ridge overlooking the fire. - Impacts
20,000 hectares of land was burnt
Many businesses suffered
Tourism, Timber Industry
Many businesses where not affected
Restaurants, dry cleaners, office services
Spray Lake Sawmills ( salvage opportunity)
Ecological Pros and Cons - Rebuild
The only option is to remain positive and move forward - Credits
