2. ello. My name is Evalyn ne Maeve. The queen just called me down to Clitheroe. It’ll be
nice to be away from all those townies. Just me, on my own, doing what I wish.
Unfortunately, the first thing I had to do when I did get into my own place? Leave it to join the rest of
the kingdom at a town gathering. It was… a little awkward. To say the least.
3. Yeah… until the queen called us over and the whole thing with the gods happened, I mostly just stuck
to my corner. It had snacks and drinks and a place to sit, and even better? It was quiet.
My neighbors were having some kind of a conversation in the center of the square. Not a clue what it
was about. Not really any of my business.
4. This is my new home, by the way. I’m a fisherman by trade, or at least I will be once I get my store
running, so I asked the god-queen to find me a place with a pond. Somewhere that wasn’t in the middle
of town. Our monarch is gracious and found me just the place.
R.A. That’s my middle name. Gracious.
Unfortunately, that lovely dock actually appended to my porch is just for show. The pond is much too
small to actually fish off of it. Figures.
5. The blue catfish: my first catch. This one won’t be eaten or sold. I had it stuffed, and now it will be
looking down at me with glass eyes for eternity.
6. My first round in the Kingdom of Clitheroe began as I suspect everyone else’s has: digging for treasure
to find enough money to fund my first business.
7. I suspect there’s some kind of volcanic activity in the area. The hole I was digging kept erupting.
R.A. No, really. I saw Evalyn doing this. She has no talent in digging for treasure. At all.
8. I finally found the funds to purchase my store, Ceybe Fresh Fish, very early Friday morning.
You may be wondering about the name. “Ceybe” is an acronym. I cut off the first letter, “w”, to make
pronunciation easier.
9. This is Ceybe Fresh Fish. There was a convenient pond, larger than the one on my home lot, right
across the street. It was away from the loud hustle and bustle of the middle of town, where everyone
else is setting up shop, so of course I bought it up.
I hope to build fencing and plant some vegetation here someday, but for now, having time to fish
without being disturbed by my responsibilities to dig treasure was a breath of fresh air.
11. The pond froze on Sunday. I hadn’t been planning on attending the princess’s ball, but my schedule was
suddenly clear for the day. So I went. It was adequate.
R.A. High praise.
12. I did use the afternoon, however, to sell what stock I had. Only having been given a few days, that was
pitifully few. I didn’t even have enough of any one kind of fish to pack a full crate. But I had taxes to
pay, so I did what I must.
I did meet a certain townie, Alf Thompson, while I was at Ceybe. He bought a couple of fish, and then
proceeded to bother me on the phone after I got back from the ball that evening. Irritating man.
