This is an introductory activity to get to know a few of the apps. With apartner, you will be doing an activity that will involve getting to know afew of the features of the iPad. Each group will use the informationbelow and complete as many scavenger hunt items as possible within the allotted time (orwhoever completes all answers correctly). Tasks can be completed in any order. Use oneiPad to view this page and another to complete the activities.Answers requiring writing should be written down on the iPad. What app would you usefor that?1. Verify that you are on the local WiFi by tapping on the Safari app and going to Google’swebsite.2. Find the telephone number of the local Public Library and write it down.3. Find and save the basic driving directions you would take from your school to thenearest hospital. (HINT-Maps app and Screenshot)4. Take a photo of a document that is displayed on your iPad and a photo containing morethan one person.5. Take a short video clip of something indoors and outdoors to test the camera andlighting. Save the footage.6. Using the Photo Booth app, take a photo of each member of your group. At least onemember has to use one of the effects. Find the photos in the Photos app.7. Using the Maps app, find a donut shop near the Eiffel Tower.8. Using Safari, bookmark this site: iPadsWow.com9. Using Safari, create a web clip of your schools website. (You may want to go toiPadsWow.com to find directions under the iPad Basics tab.)10. Install the free iBooks app. In the iBooks store, download iPad Users Guide for iOS 5.1.The section on Facetime says that when you open FaceTime, you may be prompted to dowhat?11. Watch the video called North Point’s iBand. What are they using to play the music?12. From the App Store, download Sock Puppets, Doodle Buddy, i-nigma, Educreations,DemiBooks Composer, and Chicktionary. These are all free apps that we will be using forthis session. Let the instructor know as soon as you are finished with all of the tasks.
