Opt in boxes - should you use one?

  1. 1. Opt in boxes should you use one?
  2. 2. I am going to discuss the importance of having an opt in box where ever you market online. Whether you are writing content, creating videos, writing blog posts, you should always provide a way for people to opt in.
  3. 3. An opt in box is a place where someone can give you their name and email address and opt in to your email campaign. You can create your opt in box from your auto responder account by copying the code that they give you and placing that code on your web page.
  4. 4. Now obviously people are not going to opt in unless you have given them a good reason why it would benefit them and therefore you should ideally provide some kind of incentive such as a free e- book or free training program that visitors to your site or content would find helpful.
  5. 5. The most obvious place to put an opt in box would be on your website however, there are other distractions on your website and therefore marketers have been using squeeze pages instead.
  6. 6. A squeeze page is basically a web page that has just one purpose and that is for people to opt in and sign up to your email campaign. There are no other distractions on that page and therefore there is only one action that someone could take and the opt in rate tends to be much higher.
  7. 7. The reason why building an email list is so important is because it enables you to build a trusting relationship with your subscribers in a way that you have control over. You are able to communicate with them again and again by just sending an email.
  8. 8. This becomes extremely important because you need to develop trust in order for people to purchase anything from you.
  9. 9. You should certainly have an opt in box on your website and you should also create a squeeze page with an opt in box so that you can link to that page wherever you create content online. Just add the link to your squeeze page underneath your content.
  10. 10. If you create a video and put it on YouTube then put a link to your squeeze page underneath your video. If you write an article and submit it to a website then add some kind of resource box which has a link to your squeeze page. If you create a podcast then again add a link to your squeeze page underneath.
