About A propsal to set up a managed Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary of about 3800ha base on Mount Turiwhate. Low land Podocarp forest at 100m to the top alpine snow grass and trig on Turiwhate at 1368m. A 32km totally pest-proof fence around the forest on Turiwhate. To eliminate all warm-blooded (mammalian) animal pests within the fence. To re-introduce threatened species that have been lost including kiwi, kaka,kakapo and takahe.
