  6. 6. In 1192, two leaders signed a treaty • Richard I and Salah alDin had weak armies • Muslims were allowed to keep some cities near Palestine • Christians were allowed in Jerusalem • More crusades occurred! (1212) – Children’s Crusade led by peasant children!
  7. 7. What is the Reconquista? • Crusaders warred against Muslims in N. Africa and Europe! • Reconquista =battle for control of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain/Portugal) • Reconquest
