  4. 4. Male cattle, called steers, arecastrated & grown for their meat.
  5. 5. Female cattle that have NOTgiven birth are called heifers.
  6. 6. Female bovine that have givenbirth are called cows.
  7. 7. Baby bovine are called calves(singular = calf).
  8. 8. Oxen are work or draft cattle.
