  2. 2. About the Project: Project Overview Perforated Aluminium in tune with expanding Jewish Museum Gooding Aluminium’s perforated aluminium ceiling trays played a key role in the stunning £10million transformation of the Jewish Museum in London. The aluminium ceiling trays helped created a seamless effect to this high standard design project. Project Background The Jewish Museum London recently opened it’s doors again following a remarkable transformation that culminated in a landmark museum that celebrates Jewish life and cultural diversity. The museum formerly operated from two separate premises in north London, is now based in expanded premises in the heart of Camden Town. The museum’s two 19th century terraced buildings on Albert Street have been connected to an adjacent former piano factory, tripling the amount of space available for display. This formidable re-development was made possible following a £4.2 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Project Details Gooding Aluminium were tasked with providing aluminium ceiling trays that could be used as screening to the air conditioning ducts, providing the essential environmental controls to the former piano-factory- turned-exhibition space. The powder coated finished ceiling trays, combined with the lighting system, helped to establish the differences between areas throughout the Museum, but to also work with a family of fittings which support the idea that this is a single, new museum environment. Gooding Aluminium’s perforated aluminium fits in perfectly with the direct and simple detailing that has been central to the high standard design criteria for the museum exhibition galleries.Gooding Aluminium Limited1 British WharfLandmann WayLondon SE14 5RSUnited KingdomT: + 44 (0)20 8692 2255 F: + 44 (0)20 8469 0031 Email: sales@goodingalum.com
