  • 1. ICT Information Communication Technology
  • 2. What is ICT PD?
    • A professional development programme that supports and guides Information Communication Technology learning for ourselves and our learners
    • A programme primarily - to infuse - seamlessly - the use of technologies in to our everyday programmes to raise student achievement
    • With the way that 21st century students are wired - this should be the ’N O RM ’ as our tamariki grow up and utilize these technologies around them
  • 3. What is my role?
    • To survey staff regarding their understanding/needs with ICT and use this information to drive the PD programme across kura
    • To mentor new staff in to the programme 
    • To facilitate at least 2 x staff mtgs a term aligning with the PD programme
    • To showcase best practice that is currently happening in schools around the country
    • To model some of these practices with our K ā hui
    • To highlight readings pertinent to keeping abreast of the ICT PD changes occurring (eg. CORE 10 trends, ePortfolios, Netsafe, Digital Citizenship)
    • To role model current online learning community practice
  • 4. Where are we at?
    • ICT national newsletters are fwded to all, fortnightly
    • Readings are shared
    • Good practice and possibilities are shared from other schools
    • Weekly emails keep all informed
    • Messages are shared in the Flash each week
    • Lunchtime club for personalized learning Staff mtgs / TOD for further PD
  • 5. Intended outcomes
    • Kaiako are streamlining their administration requirements
    • Kaiako are on-sharing their learning in online forums
    • Kaiako are utilising the expertise and knowledge of our students, in our classrooms, to further develop knowledge and skill sets
    • Kaiako continue to upskill in ePortfolios, Netsafe, DC...
    • Technologies are in good working order
    • Technologies are user-friendly
    • Technologies are being used seamlessly and easily across all curriculum areas by our students
    • Raised student achievement

    • Kura wiki page - ICT PD
    • History shared in this page from 2004-2011
    • Heading further towards a community of learners operating online
    • A realization that we can learn alongside our tamariki
    • Developing high performing digital citizens
    • ePortfolios used to ‘h o use ’ our TRC requirements, Teaching as Inquiry, student learning
  • 7. Looking ahead /Recommendations
    • A strategic plan for e-Learning to be constructed - TL voice invited
    • External PD is sourced
    • Readings and good practice shared are the ‘no rm ’
    • Mo bile technologies be given consideration
    • On-sell old technologies and purchase user-friendly technologies eg. Flip cameras
    • Maintain current PD practice eg. Staff mtgs, lunchtime clubs
  • 8. Updates in T4/2011
    • A Teacher e-Learning Belief survey addressed by all staff
    • The e-Learning Planning Framework addressed by all staff
    • An accumulated document for the above two self review tools be presented
    • A strategic plan for 2012 and beyond to be co-constructed by all concerned for a transparent and clear direction
