A SWOT Analysis of Regional Tourist Destinations  Because of the diversity of cultural and political scenarios in the Philippines, it is essential to first determine the value of each place in terms of attractiveness, safety and accessibility before choosing to visit it or to develop it as a tourist destination.  A useful tool in this sort of study is the SWOT Analysis, which helps determine not only the desirability of an area as tourist spot but also its marketability and potential.

  7. 7. Region IV-B MIMAROPA STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES OPPORTUNITIES THREATS •Seaports andAirports. Poor health facilities and hospitals. MIMAROPA has the great opportunity to be promoted to one of the candidates for Ecotourism Capital of the Philippines. Dams at the interior Marinduque that would brng huge floods to Boac and Mogpog. •Lots of tourist spots such as waterfalls, white sand beaches , caves, underground river s, century-old houses and churches. •Lack of rooms , school and facilities. •Modern and efficient infrastructure and transport support services. Marinduque is still dependent from its neighbouring provinces.
