  3. 3. WHAT IS TSUNAMI? Generated by an undersea geologic event, such as a great earthquake, volcanic explosion, or underwater landslide In Japanese “Tsunami” means “Harbor Wave” Also called “Seismic Sea Wave” Tsunamis are not “tidal waves”
  4. 4. HOW TSUNAMIS ARE MADE?Tsunami is made by a series of waves, produced by : Earthquakes Volcanic eruptions Meteorite impact Landslides - mostly undersea.
  5. 5. WHERE DO TSUNAMIS OCCUR? Tsunamis usually occur in the tropical islands. Mostly Tsunamis occur in the Pacific Ocean as it is located on a plate mostly made of water. The Pacific Ocean is also surrounded by the Ring of Fire , a highly active volcano and earthquake zone
