    2. Funding August 2007 SIL received $200,000 for FY 2007-08 from the Under Secretary for Science from the Seidell Fund to support BHL activities
    3. Organizational 11 April 2007 Organizational. Smithsonian Institution Libraries forms the SIL BHL Task force comprised of eight staff and charged with overseeing all SIL BHL related activities

        • 38 volumes
        • 12,574 pages

      • 184 items on picklists - starting 8/2 ending 9/6 (one month!)
      • 111 items selected for scanning (in process)
      • 84 rejects (on further notice, or by the scanner)
      • 2 copyright post 1923 (bib data did not match item data, puller didn't look at item closely)
      • 7 foldouts
      • 4 NOS, recalled
      • 39 out of scope (mostly dictionaries and atlases)
      • 4 non book (rejected in picklist before going to shelf)
    11. Scribe Scanning
      • 24 dups (including c.2s and items already scanned by SI)
      • 2 rejected by scanner for tight margins
      • 2 rejected by scanner for size limitations
      • 3 rejected by SI conservator because they were too brittle/falling apart etc.
      • 35 have been scanned
      • 22 have been "curated"
      • of the 13 that haven't been curated yet, 5 have truncated metadata and 5 have incorrect metadata (bound-withs)
