  • In the introduction I would giveeveryone a brief overview about what we will discuss. Who I am, A brief definition of social media, A history of social media stemming back to the very first e-mail, What the social media environment looks like today, benefits to utilizing social media in marketing (like the success of starbucks) and a wrap up of all we have discussed. I have also utilized a blue color for the background that would help express business stability and calmness. When introducing something new it is wise to stay professional and use imagery that will take attention away from the subjects being discussed.
  • In this section I would introduce myself and she that I am a credible source of information.
  • On this slide I would express the defined dictionary meaning of Social Media. I would then opening the floor for group participation of examples in social media. Examples like Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, YouTube and more examples that could be used by participants or added if not given. Letting the group being addressed become involved generates attention to the topic at hand and helps them relate to what we are talking about.
  • People like visual aids. This chart taken from http://matetrack.webs.com/SOCIAL/SOCIAL.html shows an incomplete history of social media. Though it is incomplete; it shows enough to get people to comprehend the basic idea of progression. I would begin by explaining that the first e-mail was sent in 1971. From there I would explain that according to research done in March of 2012 85% of the world that is on the internet utilize email. Moving through different places on the timeline I might give some facts to help validate the importance of the presentation. An example might be that 1 in 13 people on earth are active users of Facebook.
  • Use up to date information on fun facts of the current social media to emphasize trends and markets. I used the website http://www.jeffbullas.com/2012/04/23/48-significant-social-media-facts-figures-and-statistics-plus-7-infographics/ to gain knowledge that you see on this slide. This continues to build on the information from the last slide. This lends credibility to social media importance and covers the vast potential markets that could be targeted.
  • On this slide I would talk about some of the positive benefits to social media. Building on the previous slide; I would explain that is I was wanting to target the country of Brazil it would not be a bad idea to advertise on Twitter because of the exposure to that site. I would also go further into explaining the importance of the consumers opinion and the ability to garner information through surveys. An example from emarketer I would use would be that 77% of buyers say they are more likely to buy from a company whose CEO uses social media. 94% said C-suite social media participation enhances a brand image. And 82% of employees say they trust a company more when the CEO and leadership team communicate via social media or that B2B companies with blogs generate 67% more leads per month on average than non-blogging firms.
  • Give a brief summery of everything that we went over in the presentation emphasizing on the benefits of social media. Speak about the potential to increase revenue by bolstering the companies image in the social media world. Brand awareness is a key to success and if we as a company chose to ignore the current trends we will miss out on potential clients.
  • Take questions and end the presentation. Thank You!
