  • HHT, 1st Squadron 71st Cavalry The REAPERVolume V, Issue I Fort Drum, NY 09 June 2012 FROM THE Squadron Chaplain: CPT Anthony Cuchens Greetings from Chaplain Cuchens, I am writing today with mixed emotions as this will be my last time to share with you. I have been blessed to be your Chaplain for the last 2 ½ years. We’ve laughed together, cried together and shared these with the passion for life and service that only comes from the Cavalry. I move on to new opportunities in the Chaplaincy at Fort Hood, but I will never forget 1-71 CAV and the people I’ve served with here. CH Suh will come on board soon and become your Squadron Chaplain. I ask that you embrace him and his family as you have me and my family. I leave you with a challenge given to me by my mentor of how to live out your days. The Essence of a New Day “This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind…let it be something good.” I will not say goodbye, but see you later. God Bless and Godspeed. Holy Ghost
