The Aktion Club just completed another service project... Participating in
the national Great American Bake Sale. The club raised nearly $500 for
children’s hunger causes by holding three bake sales -- two in Albuquerque
and one in Belen. Over 25 of the Aktion Club members participated by bak-
ing items or working the bake sales. In addition, their efforts were supported
by several members of the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque. Jill Beets and Nelle
Conway baked and worked the sale as the club’s advisors. Mary Jo Dawson,
Cookie Emerson, and Amy Horowitz provided delicious baked goods, and
Dave Orner came by to purchase goodies for his office to support the effort.
Thanks everyone for your support of the Aktion Club!
Sponsor our Kiwanis Pancake Party
The Albuquerque Kiwanis Club, a social service club with over 75 years of service in Albuquerque, is once again holding its breakfast fundraiser on Sun-
day August 22, 2010. The Pancake Breakfast will be held at Manzano High School in Albuquerque. (On Lomas) The international mission of Kiwanis is to
“improve the world one child and one community and at a time,” and all proceeds will benefit children’s charities in the Albuquerque metro area, with funds
distributed through the Kiwanis Foundation, a 501(C) 3 nonprofit organization. Tickets will be sold through Kiwanis members, but we are also looking for
sponsors to support the event, through donations of funds or of items needed for the event.
