Our Environment( Science)

 1. 1. 1
K.J.Somaiya Comprehensive College of Research and Education
2. 2. 2
NAME : SHUKLA . PRITI . J
ROLL . NO : 88
METHOD : SCIENCE
TOPIC : OUR ENVIRONMENT
3. 3. OUR ENVIRONMENT
The word environment means to encircle or surround. The plants, animals, air, water and land all form our environment. All our activities are influenced by the environment in which we live..
4. 4. 4
CONTENT

Definitions of Environment
 5. 5. Components of Environment
 6. 6. Interrelation among the component
 7. 7. Issues of Environment
 8. 8. Conservation of Natural Resources
 9. 9. Striving for better Environment

Components of environment
Abiotic
(Living things in the surrounding)

Plants
 10. 10. Animals
 11. 11. Microorganism
 12. 12. Insects etc

(Non Living things in the
surrounding)

Sunlight
 13. 13. Water
 14. 14. Air
 15. 15. Soil

Biotic Components
Which include living beings including humans.
AbioticComponents
Which include all natural -essential non-living things around the organism.
16. 16. Interrelation of the Components

A food chain is the representation of a single energy pathway from the producer to the consumer. The study of food chains in an area or habitat helps us to know about interactions among the different organisms and also their interdependence.

Thus we can say that if one element of the environments is damaged then the whole ecosystem is unbalanced.
17. 17. ISSUES OF ENVIRONEMNT
Air Pollution
Water Pollution
Deforestation
18. 18. 10
EFFECT OF ALTERATION OF HABITAT
The survival of an organism in a habitat depends upon the way an organism is
conditioned to the abiotic and the biotic components of the environment in the habitat. Any change or alteration in the habitat can disrupt the balance in nature.
19. 19. SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT

Conservation of Natural Resources
 20. 20. Plant Trees

OZONE UMBRELLA
The atmosphere of earth has many layers. One of them called STRATOSPHERE contains OZONE. It is an isotope of oxygen which is very useful to all living beings on earth. The OZONE in atmosphere act as an umbrella. Just like an umbrella protect us from rain and sunlight this OZONE protect all earth from harmful radiations especially ULTRAVIOLET RADIATIONS originating from sun.
21. 21. 13
ANY QUESTION??
22. 22. SLOGAN
Modern technology Owes ecology An apology.
We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.
Take care of the earth and she will take care of you.
23. 23. EVALUATION

Classify the following into biotic and abiotic components of the environment?
 24. 24. soil, buffalo, air, rose, butterfly, sunlight.
 25. 25. What are different issues of environment?
 26. 26. How we can strive for a better environment?
