  4. 7. Along with his followers, people from different villages joined him. He reached Dandi on 5 th April. The next day he broke the Salt Act.

The Round Table Conference <ul><li>To prepare a political framework </li></ul><ul><li>3 Round Table Conferences were held in London. </li></ul><ul><li>Dr. B.R.Ambedkar attended all the three Conferences. </li></ul><ul><li>Congress did not participate in the 1 st Conference. </li></ul><ul><li>Gandhiji attended the 2 nd Conference. </li></ul><ul><li>They demanded freedom for India but were not granted. </li></ul><ul><li>Not a single representative attended the 3 rd Conference. </li></ul>
  11. 14. Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar <ul><li>Democratic system of Government. </li></ul><ul><li>Separate electorate for dalits </li></ul>Ramsey Macdonald British Prime Minister <ul><li>Announced the Communal Award </li></ul><ul><li>Dalits were given separate electorates </li></ul>
  12. 15. <ul><li>Gandhiji started fast unto death </li></ul><ul><li>Yerawada prison </li></ul><ul><li>Dalits had 148 seats reserved. </li></ul><ul><li>This compromise is called the Poona Pact. </li></ul><ul><li>Gandhiji ended his fast. </li></ul>Poona Pact
