My Goals: <ul><li>Instill a sense of Responsibility </li></ul><ul><li>Help the children understand and relate to others </li></ul><ul><li>Encourage a strong work ethic and sense of accomplishment </li></ul><ul><li>Learn to accept consequences for actions </li></ul><ul><li>Increase knowledge and develop skills for life-long learning </li></ul>

What to expect <ul><li>Fun and educational projects and assignments </li></ul><ul><li>A well organized and safe environment for students </li></ul><ul><li>Students will learn to become responsible, hard-working, and organized. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will discover that learning can sometimes be fun as well as beneficial and appreciate its rewards. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will learn that what they put into their work is what they can expect to get out of it. </li></ul><ul><li>The key to a good school year is cooperation. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Rules for Room 6 Children are expected to: 1. Cooperate at all times.-Key to a good school year. 2. Be responsible for their own actions and decisions 3. Be courteous of other students. 4. Come to class prepared and ready to learn 5. Complete all assignments and projects on time 6. Be neat and organized
  6. 6. What is a Responsibility Grade? The Responsibility grade is a grade that the child receives for completing their homework, handing in projects and assignments on time, returning signed tests. A Responsibility grade will be given for each subject, except Reading Points are deducted as followed: 8 points: missing homework/late projects or assignments 4 points: incomplete homework 2 points: tests not signed EXAMPLE: 9/20- Missing Science Homework- 100-8 = 92 9/25- Incomplete Science homework- 94-4 = 90

Things to be aware of <ul><li>Homework (written or study) will be given every night </li></ul><ul><li>Weekend homework is anything that the students did not finish in </li></ul><ul><li>class on Friday. </li></ul><ul><li>Notice for tests, quizzes, and projects will be given in advance. </li></ul><ul><li>Children are responsible for copying homework and test schedules as </li></ul><ul><li>they are posted. </li></ul><ul><li>Any infractions will be written in log in the back of the homework book. </li></ul><ul><li>All infractions must be made up and completed for the next school </li></ul><ul><li>day. </li></ul><ul><li>Neatness in all assignments, copybooks, and homework is expected. </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Lateness of projects is not accepted- All projects should be handed in on due dates </li></ul></ul></ul></ul>

Just a few reminders: <ul><li>Please send an absent note in with your child when they return to school. </li></ul><ul><li>Please adhere to dress code as stated in the Handbook. </li></ul><ul><li>Please check your child’s folder for any communications </li></ul><ul><li>Please sign Homework books every night. </li></ul><ul><li>Tests will be distributed on Fridays & due back Tuesday. Please check </li></ul><ul><li>folders and sign tests. </li></ul><ul><li>Please make sure children have the proper supplies for class. </li></ul><ul><li>If you would like to speak with me, please send in a note or email me, and </li></ul><ul><li>I will contact you. </li></ul>
