The BackgroundIn future young people won’t have one career –they will have many over the course of their lives.It will be more important than ever to think aboutpresenting themselves effectively – as a ‘brand’.However, most will need help with this (introducingthe concept and training) and a tool which they canuse throughout their careers to market themselves.

The traditional CV An important document in the world of business and employment but it hasn’t changed in format for many years Often dull and poorly written – it is difficult for the CV to paint an accurate or compelling picture of the individual It’s out of touch with the modern online world – both in the business and social environment We believe the tools are now available to bring us into the 21st century and create the modern CV

Vision The modern CV is a document about its author – the author is saying, “It’s about me”. ‘It’s about me’ – neatly shortens to iam so a ‘modern CV’ becomes an ‘iam Profile’ The iam Profile replaces the CV as the default method of supplying personal details about yourself to potential employers or others you want to work with It is a vehicle which allows an individual to promote their personal brand by building an on-line picture of themselves
