  • 1. Class Plan – Teacher’s Note Warm-up: 1) Matching game with words and expressions related to love.( Another idea is to play a romantic song and ask sts to fill in the blanks.) 2) The teacher asks the students if they have a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband...Then, she will elicit from the sts information about their first date. Ex.: Where did you meet? Who started the conversation? Who flirted first? …After that, the teacher will ask them how do they start a conversation with a person they don’t know. Practice: 1)The teacher will show sts the pictures (slides 3,4 and 5) and they will tell their friends how they would start a conversation in those situations. 2) The teacher will tell the sts that they are going to watch a Friends’ episode in which Ross tries to start a conversation with the pizza girl. Pre-Viewing: Slide 6 While Viewing: Take notes on the words or expressions Ross uses to talk to the pizza girl. After-Viewing: Slide 7 Production: In groups of 3, sts will write tips for an effective flirting.
