THERE ARE . . .1,465 Free WordPressThemesat: wordpress.org/extend/themesplus more that aren’t in theWordPress repository but becareful with those.

AND THERE ARE . . . Lots More Premium Themes…sometimes you might want to use something that hassupport behind it, and you dont mind paying for that.GPL doesnt say that everything must be zero-cost, just thatwhen you receive the software or theme that it not restrictyour freedoms in how you use it.Some premium themes you pay for access, some of them aremembership sites, some may give you the theme for zero-cost and just charge for support.What they all have in common is people behind them whosupport open source, WordPress, and its GPL license.

OMG! HOW DO YOU CHOOSE?

LIKE FINDING A HOMEWould you build a new one if there were a gajillion perfectlygood houses at half the price of building new?No you would not!•  You would look for a house that had the right style, number of rooms, your favorite other features.•  You would assess your skills and decide on one that you had the expertise to tackle.•  If you weren’t all that handy, you would find one that was “almost” right and would need just a bit of tweaking with a coat of fresh Paint and a new door.

CHOOSE A THEME WITH: 2. Has Child theme or custom CSS files( Important: keeps you from overwriting yourtheme customizations when a theme getsupgraded.)

CHOOSE A THEME WITH: 3. Built-in User Defined Options without coding( It is good to get to know a simple theme files structure to learn tomake changed to code yourself. But at first if you don’t know CSS thetheme options to change fonts, colors, type and other things can behelpful.)

Design elements you like. a)  Corporate looking styling boxy, with gradients b)  Artsy or feminine with rounded corners c)  The sidebar elements with backgrounds or headings a certain way. d)  The posts with backgrounds or boxes or meta data in a specific style. e)  Minimalist, open with cool typeography
