  2. 2. INTRODUCTION: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT IN SPAIN.<br />Spain is a country with a wide variety of natural regions that have more than 8000 different vegetal species. This is because we have a heterogeneous relief with big plateaus and big mountain chains.<br />
  3. 3. RESPECT FOR NATURE<br />We must protect nature (forests, animals, rivers..). Nowadays different laws exist.<br />But to protect nature is not only a government business, every one of us must avoid any damage to the environment.<br />
  4. 4. ACTIVITIES IN THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT<br />There are lots of activities: some have existed for a long time ago (hiking, camping, populargames, riding a horse…) and some others have appeared recently (rafting, hang gliding, paragliding..)<br />Know the characteristics of the natural environment.<br />Learn how to respect and conserve nature.<br />Discover the pleasure of being in contact with nature.<br />Improveyourphysicalcondition.<br />Learn how to behave in a safer way.<br />Learn how to work in group with your classmates.<br />
  5. 5. CAMPING<br />Camping is an activity carried out next to trees in the open air. The activity involves spending one or more nights in a tent to enjoy nature.<br />
  6. 6. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL PLACE TO PUT THE TENT UP<br />It must be a place with lots of trees.<br />There must be drinking water.<br />It must be dry and a bit high.<br />It mustn’tbecrowded.<br />There must be a village nearby in case we need to buy something.<br />
  7. 7. Youmustn’t camp in:<br />Meadows, fields...<br />Paths.<br />Watercourses.<br />Places where there are bird nests.<br />Places where we can disturb people’s lives.<br />Privatefarms<br />Places where camping is forbidden.<br />

HOW TO PUT A TENT UP.<br />Clean the place: remove stones, thistles…or any object that can break the tent.<br />Spread the tent out, hammering the 4 corners into the ground.<br />Hammer the rest of the stakes.<br />The door must be against the wind. In this way, the tent doesn’t blow up.<br />Enter the tent and put the poles.<br />Join the horizontal pole with the upright ones.<br />When the tent is without creases, put the rainfly creating an air layer to insulate us from the outer temperature. This space can be used to keep some material.<br />
  9. 9. GENERAL ADVICE WHEN GOING CAMPING:<br />Keep clean the place where you’ve camped.<br />Never bury rubbish. Animals can smell it.<br />Don’t throw glass bottles, they can cause accidents and even a fire.<br />Don’t do any drain system around the tent.<br /> Don’t make a fire without respecting law.<br />Don’t pollute rivers throwing rubbish or using washing powder.<br />ALWAYS respect wildlife and plants.<br />
