Do  sports  have  bosses?   Assistant Coach Scott Sobkowiak (left) addresses the team at the start of practice to break down the agenda for the day, before the team separates for the remainder of the time. The manager gathers the team to explain the goals of the day before the individuals separate from the group and carry on with the assigned tasks.

Where  is  leadership  found  in   baseball  and  business?   Senior “Captain” Marshall Escue (right) helps address and correct a complication in Freshman, Josh Walinski’s swing during a difficult hitting drill. (left). A co-worker helps a fellow employee with a problem that he has with his computer.

Dedication,  but  how?   Senior,  Kyle  Kapka  can’t  believe  how   fast  1me  has  flown  by;  it  seems  like   yesterday  he  was  a  freshman,   star1ng  his  career  at  Lewis   University!  Four  years  later  look   where  he  is  now,  s1ll  a  Flyer!   General  manager,  reminisces  of  when   he  received  his  acceptance  leKer  from   the  business.  Hard  to  believe  that  was   three  years  ago!

Can  practice  make  perfect?   Sophomore designated hitter Austin Mastela (left) and Junior catcher, Kelton Zimmerman (right), work out some kinks in their swings on their own to help get them ready for the next game! This employee takes some time out of his day to work on his upcoming speech to for a sale.
  6. 6. Where  is  the  fun?   Freshman Catcher, Grant Bridgewater, (center), finds the joy in the little things, such as helping collect the balls that his fellow teammates and him hit! Employees have a laid back conversation with another worker at lunch break. Always have to take some time away for fun!
  7. 7. Does  teamwork  have  an  age?   The 2013-2014 Lewis University Flyers Baseball team ranges from freshman to seniors. Each person has a specific role, starter or non-starter! This trainee helps his manager move some equipment for the business week. Anyone can help! That box couch pretty heavy!

Where  can  we  see  hard  work?     Numerous  Lewis  University   Baseball  players  condi1on  during   prac1ce  to  stay  in  shape  for  the   season.  Nothing  like  a  one  mile   run  to  get  the  blood  going!   Employees  have  worked  an   endless  amount  of  hours  to  create   this  new  computer  applica1on.  It   is  a  big  hit!

Do  sports  help  you  to   overcome  obstacles/hardship?   Redshirt Senior Tom Helwich (left) and Redshirt Sophomore Brandon Collins (right)both suffering injury, wait anxiously for a speedy recovery and to return to the field. Having to overcome the fear of public speaking, this spokesman stands in front of a large group of desired customers to pitch a new product.

Do  sports  teach  time   management?   Senior  J.C.  Burrell  (leQ)  and  Junior   Kane  Lombardo  (right)  take  some   extra  swings  aQer  prac1ce,  but  s1ll   find  1me  to  finish  their  homework   for  the  night.   This  employee  doesn’t  waste  1me   geVng  down  to  business  comple1ng   his  project  (leQ),  but  he  s1ll  knows   how  to  have  a  liKle  fun  with  the  family   (right).

How  do  you  distinguish   between  teams/companies?   “Bedcheck Charlie,” the mascot of The Lewis university Flyers (left), stands out in comparison to “The Bulldogs ” of Truman State University (right). The brand logo of Nike, “The Swoosh,” (left) helps customers distinguish Nike products and those of Adidas (right).
  12. 12. What’s  the  deal  with  uniforms?   The Lewis University Flyers will be sporting this new look in the 2013-2014 baseball season for the first time in a few years. They’ll help you spot your favorite player on the field much faster! Customers  won’t  have  a  problem   loca1ng  employees  while  they  are   rocking  this  look.  They  sure  do   stand  out!  
  13. 13. How  can  failure  help  in   baseball?   Junior Short Stop Mike Barajas misses a groundball (left), but clears his head and picks himself up to get the next groundball and out (right)! Disappointed with the missed job opportunity (left), this man gets back out there and finds a job at a local company of his liking (right).

Can  sports  teach  competition?       Senior  pitcher  Kendall  Paluch  baKles   to  throw  the  most  strikes  while  his   rival  Eann  Cox  looks  on  and  charts.   Cox  throws  next  to  declare  a   winner.  Loser  runs!   Two  shoe  brands  Nike  (leQ)  and  Puma   (right)  fight  to  grab  their  customers   aKen1on  for  the  coolest  product.   Which  would  you  choose?

How  to  deal  with  pressure?   The 2012-2013 Lewis University Flyers look back on the GLVC Conference clinch and Regional appearance with high hopes for this season’s repeat, talk about some serious success and pressure! Being  a  new  employee  can  be  preKy   hec1c,  trying  to  learn  everything  in  a   few  days!  Not  to  men1on  taking  your   first  order!
