  2. Definition of Film Technique It is methods employed by film makers to communicate meaning, entertain, and to produce a particular emotional or psychological response in an audience. What is film technique and what makes it so important:
  3. Breakdown

    • Camera Angles are used to communicate meaning and emotion about characters: Low angle shot, Straight angle shot, Canted or Oblique (Tilt)
  5. Mise-en-scène
    • “ Mise en scene" refers to what is known as "the Set", but is applied more to everything that is presented before the camera. Film makers use it to make meaning. It is how a scene is put together to make an image. Some examples are the films, West Side Story and Edward Scissorshands.
  6. Lighting
    • Lighting is the usage of light to re-create the feeling of the character and set the mood for the shot.
