  • Smaller regions of the oceans are called seas, gulfs, bays, straits and other names.
  • The difference between lake and bay is that bay is a body of water which is almost completely surrounded by land, except bay has a water passage connecting to the sea. And lake is still a body of water which is surrounded by land but there’s no water passage to the sea. Also lake is fresh water and bay is salt water.
