POSITION DESCRIPTION Position details Position Title: Credit Officer Business Group: Credit and Services Corporate Location: Brisbane Position No. 76024072 & 76024073 Classification: SW05 Reports to: Senior Credit Officer Purpose and Key Challenges Corporate Services provides SunWater with essential support services and promotes leading business practices in Finance, Human Resource Management, ICT, Legal and Procurement services The Finance Group provides financial management of SunWater operations. It ensures the integrity of SunWater through continual monitoring of corporate finance, information and reporting systems and data. The purpose of the Credit Officer position is to assist with the effective management of the credit and commercial invoicing functions for SunWater. This role provides support to the Senior Credit Officer, Credit & Services Manager, business managers, and related staff. Key challenges include: •Preparing invoices for commercial contracts’ customers •Assisting the Senior Credit Officer to manage the on-line credit assessment system and in- house legal response to minimise the potential for bad debt losses. •Coordinating and following up with customers for the collection of outstanding accounts. •Tracking and reporting on debtors, including making recommendations to the Senior Credit Officer on referral of debtors to external lawyers for advice and further action •Minimising SunWater’s credit risk exposure by timely collection of outstanding debtors, providing appropriate reports, analysis and advice in accordance with industry best practice for credit issues. •Assisting in developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, including legal, commercial entities and SunWater managers, to ensure collections are maximised and compliant with policy and procedures

Financial and Human Resource Management Accountabilities Financial: Nil People: Nil Key Accountabilities SunWater Key Result Major Outcomes Area Corporate Responsibility Contribute to the achievement of SunWater’s ‘no harm’ safety objective for the workplace and clients The accountabilities of the role are undertaken in line with SunWater’s Code of Conduct, business performance systems, policies and procedures and Workplace Health and Safety standards and guidelines Organisational SunWater’s exposure to credit risk is minimised through Effectiveness expert advice and timely pursuance of delinquent debtors in accordance with industry best practice for credit management. Ensure Senior Credit Officer accurately briefed for recovery of hardcore debt. Monthly reports are prepared and presented to management on debtors and counter party credit risk issues. Assistance is given for the efficient and effective development and maintenance of policies, standards and procedures in relation to credit management. Participate as a positive proactive member of the team, and maintain good working relationships. Participate effectively in SunWater’s Achievement Development System (ADS) to review work performance, and identify training and development needs. Attend and successfully complete training courses, as required, in order to effectively undertake current activities, and to develop further skills. Provide training and assistance to other staff within the relevant area of expertise as required. All non compliance, client feedback, hazards, risks and incidents are reported in a timely manner according to SunWater procedures. Maintain the security of commercial-in-confidence material and intellectual knowledge relating to SunWater business, and the maintenance of personnel and client information in accordance with privacy principles. Provide fair, courteous, attentive service at all times and referral to water supply customers as required. Communicate with customers and clients in a professional and positive manner. Person Specification Essential Class ‘C’ manual and automatic driver’s licence Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Sound knowledge and commercial experience in all aspects of credit management, including the ability to proactively identify and manage credit exposure risks • Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and the ability to apply this knowledge to the development of effective business processes • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and/or as part of a small team, and achieve outcomes within negotiated timeframes • Highly developed interpersonal, consultation, communication and influencing skills, and the ability to negotiate successful commercial outcomes for SunWater • Demonstrated experience in the application of financial management information systems and other Microsoft software programs (eg Excel) Desirable Membership of the Australian Institute of Credit Management Work Environment/Conditions • The SunWater Enterprise Agreement 2009-2012 covers salary and entitlements of the position. • The successful applicant may be placed on a six (6) month probation period, and may be required to undertake additional training programs to enhance individual skills. • Normal hours of duty are 72.5 hours per fortnight. • The position may require the successful applicant to travel and stay away from home base overnight and for longer periods
