    • Four easy steps to adding content to the site:
    • Plan!!!
    • Organize
    • Write
    • Add
  • 10. 1. Plan! Plan! Plan!
    • Most good sites:
    • Didn’t just “appear” and be a good site
    • Had someone do some thinking about the site
    • Had someone create a “master plan” for the site
  • 11. What’s in a Master Plan?
    • Here are some suggested items for your Master Plan:
    • Site Map (areas of your site)
    • Site Organization (sections/ Categories/ Containers)
    • The Content
  • 12. 2. Organizing the Content
    • Joomla gives you the ability to organize content into:
    • Sections / Categories, or
    • Uncategorized
  • 13. Sections / Categories Joomla has a built in article management system. This system is based on the idea of sections and categories to “hold” the articles for the site.
  • 14. Facts on Sections / Categories
    • Categories have only 1 section
    • Articles are assigned to a section AND category
    • 1 “unique” article can be in only 1 section and category combination
  • 15. Facts on Uncategoried Articles
    • Uncategorized IS a section AND category
    • Allows for articles to show up without section/category
    • Also known as “static content”
  • 16. 3. Write The title is what it’s all about – Creating the content for your site. Create as much content as you can before you move on to the final step.
  • 17. What do I need to write?
    • We suggest creating the following ahead of time:
    • Article title
    • Article body
  • 18. 4. Adding the Content How do we add content? What do we do first? Ah!!!!! First thing is to take it step by step and not rush anything. Make sure it’s all right, and everything will fall into place.
  • 19. Steps to Add Content
    • Here is the steps listed to enter your content:
    • Add the Sections
    • Add the Categories
    • Add the Articles
    • Simple!
