How to configure the wireless Internet on
your Clearaccess modem
Before setting up the wireless on this modem the
WLAN light on the modem needs to be lit solid. If
the WLAN light is not solid please contact your
local telephone office to activate the wireless
service on your modem.
For this setup your computer cannot be connected to the
modem with a network cable it needs to be wireless. If
your computer does not have wireless network support
built in, plug your network adapter into your USB port,
and place the antenna on top of your computer (in the
case of a desktop computer), or insert the network
adapter into an empty PC card slot (in the case of a
laptop). Windows XP will automatically detect the new
adapter, and may prompt you to insert the CD that came
with your adapter. The on-screen instructions will guide
you through the configuration process.
Note: The steps in the guide only apply if you're using Windows
XP Service Pack 2. If you're running Windows XP and you don't
have Service Pack 2 yet, plug your computer into your
ClearAccess wireless modem and download and install Windows
XP Service Pack 2. Go to the following web address to proceed
with downloading Service Pack 2 if required.
Follow these steps to connect your computer to your
1. Right-click the wireless network icon in the lower-right
corner of your screen, and then click View Available
Wireless Networks. If you run into any problems,
consult the documentation that came with your network
adapter. Don't be afraid to call their tech support.
Note: If the manufacture of your wireless card is not set to be
configured by windows and uses its own software contact the
manufacture of the wireless adapter or laptop. Try to have set to let
windows manage wireless network.
2. Wireless Network Connection window should appear
and you should see your wireless network listed with
the network name of ClearAccess. If you don't see your
network, click Refresh network list in the upper-left
corner. Click your network, and then click Connect in
the lower-right corner.
3. Windows XP will show its progress as it
connects to your network. After you're
connected, you can now close the Wireless
Network Connection window. Note: If it prompts
you about connecting click connect anyway for right now.
4 Open your Web Browser (Windows products have
. Internet Explorer installed by default, and you can
open this by double clicking on the big blue “e” on
your desktop), and type “clearview” in the address
bar, and hit enter or click “go”. If this does not work
try 192.168.50.1 in the address bar this is the IP
address of the modem.

The last six of the MACID is the username
The first six of the MACID is your password
These will used at the Wireless setup authentication
screen. Follow the onscreen instructions from here.

Modems IP address is 192.168.50.1
User name: is the last six of the MAC ID on the bottom
of the modem.
Password: is the first six of the MAC ID on the bottom
of the modem.
