Qwest® Advanced Networking Modem with Wireless: 2-Wire® 2700 HG How to Connect to the Wireless Adapter Manually Advanced Setup Use this document if: • You want to configure your wireless adapter manually, using the advanced setup method. This method uses the client card utility manager instead of the Windows® Zero Configuration Manager. This document assumes: • You use the Qwest Advanced Networking Modem with Wireless: 2-Wire 2700 HG. • You use the Qwest® Wireless USB Adapter: 2Wire® 802.11g, or the Qwest Wireless Laptop Card: 2Wire 802.11g. • Your wireless adapter is on and working correctly. 1. Right-click on the 2Wire® Wireless Client Card Utility Manager icon. The icon looks like an antenna with vertical green bars. Then, select Wireless Networks. Copyright © 2007 Qwest. Use this screen for access to: • My networks: for adding or removing networks • Available networks: for selecting a network to add manually • Properties for changing wireless connection settings • Advanced Scan for troubleshooting Copyright © 2007 Qwest. Use this “Advanced Scan” screen to: • Find network names (SSID) and BSSID • Check wireless network connection types • Verify if privacy (security) is enabled for a network • Check network frequency • View type, signal and supported data rates Copyright © 2007 Qwest. Use the “Wireless Networks” screen to add wireless networks manually. • First, select the Manual Add button. • If you want to add more than one wireless network, select the desired networks from the list of “Available networks.” • Then, select Add to move them to the “My networks” list.
