The iRiver 6 GB model H10 is the perfect portable digital player/recorder

its internal microdrive has space for over 1,500 songs (128 kbps MP3, 4
minutes per song) or more than 100 hours of music. Yet the whole player
measures just 2.2 x 3.8 inches (W x H) and little more than half an inch
deep. Sensibly arranged controls--including an intuitive central touchpad--
make it childs play to setup and use, and an internal battery delivers up to
12 hours of non-stop music between charges. But the H10 is about more

The unit also features a built-in FM tuner with a choice of automatic and
manual channel-search functions, including 20 station presets for one-
touch tuning to your favorites, especially handy for traffic and news
updates when youre out and about. An antenna built into the supplied
headset ensures crystal-clear sound quality, and a timer lets you set the
H10 to record radio programs with real-time MP3 encoding at specific
times of your choosing. The H10 is PlaysForSure compatible and fully
integrated with Microsoft Windows Media Player 10, which makes it even
easier to enjoy your digital media. In addition to a range of options for

managing digital content, youll enjoy fast access to the H10s digital media
hall, where you can scavenge the virtual shelves of numerous online shops
(including Napster To Go) in search of cool songs old and new. With the
player/recorder connected to your PC, youll be able to purchase and
download songs straight into the H10. An auto-sync function synchronizes
music and image files on the H10 with those stored on your PC, just like a
PDA. An optional docking cradle (the H10 5GB/6GB Cradle) charges your
H10 player plus an additional battery, connects your H10 to your home
stereo system, and lets you record from external analog sources via an

Personal Review: iriver H10 6 GB Digital MP3 Player Red
This is my second iRiver player. The first was a flash player, but when I
out grew the limited capacity of a 256 meg player, I went into search mode.
After reading many reviews of various players, they kept me going back to
iRiver and their H10. The biggest plus to me, compared to the over rated
iPod, was the removable/replaceable battery pack. It's a whole lot cheaper
and easier to replace it than iPod's you've got to mail us the players option.
I too, like some other people, had the misfortune of a problem my H10
early on. Within 30 days of purchasing the unit, the scroll bar stopped
working. Following the advise on the website, I re-flashed the hard drive
with the latest firmware with no result. I then called the 800 customer
support line, which was answered in a reasonable length of time. The
customer service agent had me jump through the firmware installation
hoop again with the same result. To make this long story short, I ended up
mailing the unit back to iRiver the following Monday morning, and then
having a NEW replacement in my hands exactly 1 week later. Upon
receipt of my defective unit, they UPS overnighted me my player.
If you're looking for an alternate to the over rated iPod, this would be the
player to get. Great sound, easy operations, great features and smart
looking to boot.
