Personal Review: Canon imageCLASS MF4370DN Laser All-in-
One Printer
Since there many excellent reviews about the machine here already, I just
wanted to add few things for potential buyers.
1. DUPLEX Printing/copying.
I bought this all-in-one printer for my church. So the primary use for the
machine is duplex copying. This machine allows you to make a duplex
copy from your computer or by using the machine alone. Excellent quality
and copying. The manual is clear and helpful in this regard.

I have considered other machines that are less expensive, but with no
duplex copying. Sure, you could try to do duplex by copying a single side
and then copy the other side, but many times, it will cause paper jam or
curled/crooked copies, if your machine is not made for duplex.
[NOTE: You could also make a legal sized copy by using ADF (Automatic
Document Feeder)].
2. MADE in Korea.
I initially thought this machine was made in elsewhere. But to my pleasant
surprise, the machine was made in Korea. As many know, Korea is well
known for their quality electronics on par with Japanese. It gave me the
added sense of machine's reliability.
3. SCANNING the photos.
I connected the machine via USB cable to my laptop. I scanned my
personal photos and I was really surprised by the quality of its detail that
was scanned. My wife was thoroughly impressed. The scanning was
simple and the direction was clear in the manual.
4. LAYOUT of the machine.
Initially I thought this machine had too many buttons. Then I realized that it
really comes down to three MAIN option buttons: "COPY" "FAX" and
"SCAN" -- from there you make your additional options according to your
need. The manual was again very helpful guiding you through. In no time, I
was able to duplex, scan, with ease.
5. SOFTWARE (Canon MF Toolbox).
The software was easy to install (including the drivers for my XP). NOTE:
when you install the program, you will note that Windows XP will open up
its own window to install the drivers. Just press "cancel" and only follow the
instruction given by the Canon program. While the program is not
necessarily intuitive, it is not difficult to use. You could scan, mail, copy,
save, and change settings from this software.
6. MANUAL (Basic Operation Guide).
I found this manual really helpful. On duplex, it shows step by step guide to
perform your work. It also comes with e-manual (CD-Rom), but I do not
find this too helpful because Basic Operation Guide (book) is good enough
for me.
Overall, I love this machine. It fits nicely on my desk and it is pleasant to
look at - the machine just looks professional. The machine is quality built
and even has Energy Saver option. I recommend it heartily.
