Personal Review: Electro Harmonix #1 Echo Digital Delay Pedal
The Electro Harmonix #1 Echo is simple to use, ruggedly build, and
sounds great. I rarely turn the "Blend" knob past 1/4, the "Delay" knob
gives you everything from short slapback to as long as you'll ever need for
most live performances, with the most useful positions for me being around
12 o'clock to 1 o'clock or so. The "Feedback" knob allows 1 to an infinite
number of repeats. The only thing this pedal is lacking is perhaps a
reverse echo, but I wouldn't use it that much anyway. I find it is very easy
to adjust on the fly, even in the middle of a tune, since the knobs are easy
to see and bigger than some. I play all kinds of music but mostly
contemporary christian stuff, and this pedal, combined with reverb and a
nice tube amp, will allow you to do everything from U2 to Chris Tomlin and
Anberlin. The only drawback is that you can ONLY use the AC power
supply that is provided; you can't use a battery. This for me was fine, since
I hate changing batteries in the middle of a gig or realizing that I don't have
a spare. I highly recommend the #1 Echo pedal and believe it will fill the
needs of most musicians, from amateur to professional. Keep it simple!

The Blue Dahlia is on my top ten list of greatest A more
The Blue Dahlia is on my top ten list of greatest American films ever made. The superb cast is so close in age and demographic to the tenor of the times that every line written by Chandler is delivered with an almost exacting reality of both mythical movie America and the very real horror of men dealing with postwar paranoia in the real world. The villains are ugly sleazy men who run the city of L.A. and were draft dodgers for whom WWII was nonexistent. In this Noir landscape they stumble around an L.A.
that to this day if you drive around at 2a.m.you might still see the ghosts of Johnny and Buzz and that gorgeous Veronica Lake making their way back to the Blue Dahlia for one nightcap, one song before the credits roll. less
