For 25 years I have mobilized
students into missions with
Youth With A Mission

It’s always been about calling
We mobilized hundreds of internships to help
students learn how to flourish in their calling by
serving projects in communities around the world.

But our interns were mostly
from the Western World.

Then I began to notice something…
Indian & Korean missionaries are
leading student fellowships
everywhere.

YWAM
leaders from
Madagascar
are working
on campus in
four cities
their nation.

In YWAM, hundreds of young leaders
are engaging university communities in
35 countries.

And Chinese church planters are
leading tens of thousands to faith in
Christ on university campuses in 6 cities.

• By showing hospitality the Project Host performs the
most strategic of all missional activity.
Hosts fill out a simple online
set up form.They get
validated by aYWAM
partner and we publish their
project on the converge
site.

the most connected, well traveled, and socially
conscious generation.
Students search the site and apply to serve the
project that best fits their schedule, their passion,
and their field of study.

Converge Internships for Missional Partnerships

  • 1. A new platform for would-be world changers. Hi. I’m John Henry. For 25 years I have mobilized students into missions with Youth With A Mission 1
  • 2. It’s always been about calling We mobilized hundreds of internships to help students learn how to flourish in their calling by serving projects in communities around the world. 2
  • 3. But our interns were mostly from the Western World. 3 Then I began to notice something…
  • 4. Indian & Korean missionaries are leading student fellowships everywhere. 4
  • 5. YWAM leaders from Madagascar are working on campus in four cities their nation. 5
  • 6. In YWAM, hundreds of young leaders are engaging university communities in 35 countries. 6
  • 7. And Chinese church planters are leading tens of thousands to faith in Christ on university campuses in 6 cities. 7

  • 9. This new world is FLAT... it’s more connected. • There are 650 million mobile phones In Africa. • Nigeria has100 million mobile phone lines. • Kenya’s mobile phone sales increased more than 200% in 2009. • Africa has far more than the US and Europe combined. 9

  • 16. field hosts • Hosts welcome students to serve projects in THEIR community. • By showing hospitality the Project Host performs the most strategic of all missional activity. Hosts fill out a simple online set up form.They get validated by aYWAM partner and we publish their project on the converge site. 16
  • 17. students Disciples are students. Today’s students represent the most connected, well traveled, and socially conscious generation. Students search the site and apply to serve the project that best fits their schedule, their passion, and their field of study. ! So you must go and make disciples... Matthew 28:19 17
  • 18. mentors Participants choose their own Mentor from their own community to help them prepare to serve and discern their career, their life-work calling. ! Mentors are mature Christ- followers with cross-cultural experience. 18
  • 19. Donors • Donors connect with students and the projects they serve through their personal support. • Donors will see results as student reports are posted on the site. 100% Rule! The entire gift goes to the student scholarship fund 19

  • 22. mentor support 1. Joanne will recruit, equip, and evaluate Mentors. 2. She will support Mentors with information to help them support students through the course curriculum. 3. She will send updates to Mentors, extending the converge Community.
