Sophotec commented on The Healthcare Threat Unjustice in a society is always a problem worth fighting against - especially when it comes to the health of people. But we also need to be smart in how to fight it. Pointing fingers at executive pay and looking for government run healthcare seems emotionally the right thing, but not everything that feels right is necessarily the thing that will fix the system. In that respect, yes, I think costs are the key. Because even though it might sound cruel, everything needs to be paid for. And the key lays in improved efficiency. 3 months ago

Obviously, these systems seem to be working more cost-effective than ours. But basically, they suffer from the same illness as the US system: rising costs without rising quality. I don’t agree that government in general is more incompetent than other organizations, but there is for sure a tendency that with growing size of an entity the inefficiency increases, too. Regardless whether private or public, both are right now not able to control costs. That’s why we have to turn the focus on solving the cost problem - this Thursday on www.sophotec.com. 3 months ago

Sophotec commented on Web3.0 Action Benchmarks hey todfong - I use simple markers on paper, scan it and dissect the drawings in ppt or paint. Most important: I am not good in drawing, it’s very simple stuff - it’s more about getting your thoughts and concepts straight before with sketches. Sophotec commented on Web3.0 @pgoldin & memrbano - great input. Let me elaborate: web 3.0 as user generated (media) business is the only solution to the content flood. Because only if users create their own business vision for their channels, an effective match between supply and demand can be achieved (through efficient marketing, which is basically just the part in the value chain the matches supply and demand). In order to do so, the effectiveness of content (knowledge, culture) markets needs to be dramatically improved, which requires a broad entrepreneurial effort. Inmho, whats missing is monetization - a universal publishing platform that enables users to make a living from their creativity. This is what the web3.0 is truly all about. Sophotec is developing www.klatcher.com right now - launch of V2.1 will be next week. This platform has achieved unprecedented income levels for regular users. I will write more about it soon. Sophotec commented on Web2.0 Dilemma Hey everyone - thanks for your encouraging and interesting comments! The discussion around money or not money in the internet is exciting, indeed. But please consider: making money nowadays is not just a pursuit driven by greed, as most critics of knowledge markets believe. Providing infrastructures that connect knowledge (and entertainment) production so market demand pushes quality, development speed and progress in general. Universities are a great example: look at areas such as psychology, management science and other complex fields - the free market already has taken over most the authority and effectiveness from Universities. Money and markets make things more effective, if they are build the right way. They reward effective sharing and publishing , and create incentives to generate progress.
