    • Dramatic increase in obesity the last 20 years
    • 72.5 million American adults (34%) are obese and 12.5 million children (17 %)
    • In 2010, no state had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%
    • Alabama, Arkansas and 10 other states had a prevalence of 30% or more
    • Colorado and Hawaii have one of the lowest obesity rates

  • 7. CAUSES OF OBESITY
    • Fast food restaurants
    • Not eating fruits or vegetables
    • Drinking too much alcohol
    • Eating larger portions than you need
    • Comfort eating
    • You learn bad eating habits from your parents
    • Many people have jobs that involve sitting at a desk for most of the day

  • 8. HEALTH DANGERS AND PROBLEMS

    • Heart disease (BMI > 25)
    • High blood pressure
    • Type 2 diabetes
    • Higher risk of cancer
    • Lung and breathing problems

    • Fewer chances to get a job
  • 9. POSSIBLE COUNTERMEASURES
    • To remove fat by surgery
      • stomach stapling operation
    • Change personal attitude
    • Work with a physician to identify and correct your problem
    • Eating normal and responsible
    • Fruits and vegetables instead of sweets
    • Setting oneself a target
    • Doing sports (“Walk, don‘t ride!“)
