  • Beneficiaries Atlanta Public Schools (APS) – Under the leadership  of superintendent Dr. Beverly L. Hall, the mission of  APS for its 51,000 students is to focus on student  success, preparing every child through effective and  innovative teaching to meet the needs of the  individual, and to engage families, teachers, students  and the community to participate in the educational  process. Dekalb County School System – The DeKalb County  School System (DCSS) is a metropolitan Atlanta  public school system located in the second largest  county in Georgia. DeKalb, one of the most culturally  diverse counties in the nation, has a student  enrollment of more than 102,000 students in 143  schools and centers, and 13,285 full­time employees. CHRIS Kids was founded in 1981 to break the cycle of  abuse by healing children, strengthening families  and building community. The Atlanta non­profit has  helped more than 10,000 children and family  members heal the pain of abuse or neglect and build  hope for the future. CHRIS Kids is a leader in  preventing youth homelessness in Atlanta by  empowering at­risk youth to become successful and  independent adults.

  • BENEFICIARIES The holidays are traditionally a joyous season  for children and their families. However, for  those less fortunate, this time of year can be  particularly difficult.  The US Census Bureau has released statistics of  a staggering and increasing poverty rate for  children. In Georgia alone, the 2004 report  indicated over 400,000 children in need. Our  objective is to brighten the holiday season for as  many of these children as possible by collecting  toys and donations for organizations which serve  this constituency.

  • “The toys, gift cards and our year­end cash  donation help all of these schools and  organizations enrich the lives of the children  in their care.    Brightening the lives of Georgia’s children in  need is why For the Kid in All of Us produces  Backpack in the Park and The Toy Party .”  Since 2003, For the Kid in All of Us has donated  more than 22,750 toys and gift cards and more  than $435,000 to several North Georgia area  non­profit organizations that support  underprivileged children and young adults.
